Epping Forest

We stable our horses in the heart of Epping Forest, a national treasure of largely unspoilt woodland, nestled within the boundary of the M25. Physically close to London, but in many respects a world away. Once the royal hunting reserve, Queen Victoria gave the forest back to the people, and it is now invaluable playground for those stressed by big-city life. Walkers, joggers, mountain bikers, dog owners, flashers and fly-tippers, all vie for space with horse riders, of the most part we all seem to get on, or at least more or les tolerantly coexist. This part of Essex seems to have a massively high concentration of horses and stables, every little lane seems to have one or two yards, and the horse seems to dominate the local economy. My wife Fiona and I are members of the Epping Forest Riders Association “EFRA”. http://www.efra.co.uk/
